Meet Manny the Menorah! He is the happiest, most colorful menorah in the whole neighborhood, and he loves this time of the year. Every winter, Manny gets to sit right by the big dining room window, ready to celebrate Hanukkah. With his nine tall, friendly candle helpers, he can’t wait to bring warm, glowing light to the family's holiday celebrations.

Each night of Hanukkah, Manny gets a brand new candle helper to shine. To keep the helper candle, Shamash, company, Manny’s friend—the colorful dreidel—loves to play spin-and-dash on the table nearby. Meanwhile, plates of sweet, jelly-filled donuts and shiny gold coins called gelt gather around him, making the festive table look and smell absolutely delicious!

From his spot by the window, Manny looks out into the starry night sky. He twinkles back at the crescent moon, knowing that his little flickering flames are spreading joy, hope, and happiness to everyone who sees them. Together with the cheerful paper banners hanging from the ceiling, Manny is ready to make this the brightest Hanukkah ever!

  • Main Character (Manny & His Candles): Make Manny the Menorah shine brightly! Use a beautiful golden yellow or a bright orange for his happy base. For his nine candles, try using all the colors of the rainbow—blues, reds, greens, and purples—and give each flame a warm, sparkling yellow and orange glow to show they are lit and happy!

  • Background Elements: Color the "HAPPY HANUKKAH" banners and garlands with lots of different festive shades. For the donuts (sufganiyot), make them look yummy with a golden-brown crust and red dots on top for the jelly. Don't forget to shade the dreidels and the gold coins (gelt) scatterd across the patterned tablecloth!

  • Sky & Ground: Color the room cozy with warm browns for the chairs and table, and use a dark nightly blue for the sky outside the window so the crescent moon and stars really stand out.

  • Fun Art Challenge: Can you draw some extra sparkling magic patterns, or maybe more stars and holiday decorations in the empty spaces?
